you enter an orphanage after seeing a sign saying: "we are officially shutting down this orphanage, so come and get your new pride and joy now for 50% off!"
as soon as you walk in, you're greeted with the faint smell of dust and mold. some of the children look sickly. the sight of them rips through your heart. they don't deserve this, they're only kids. but then again, the orphanage did mention shutting down.
your eyes scan the areas, looking for your ideal juvenile candidate. and very soon enough, you start to bore. no wonder they're closing...
female orphanage worker — « not a single one of these cute lil' cherubs caught yer eye, mx ? » she spoke with a slight accent, walking beside you to guide you through the maze-like paths of this building.
female orphanage worker — « the orphanage will be closing soon due to finanical issues, so there's a discount on all the lil' bumfuzzles ! i'm sure there might be a li' fella here that would be more than glad to have you bring 'em home wit' ye, mx! some are turning 18 soon, they might not get to find delight in the comfort of a home because it'll be too late ! you don' wanna have that on yer conscience now do ye ? » the guiltripping is insane...
after a bit of walking, your eyes land on a young teenage boy with long white hair cascading down his shoulders and is wearing white religious clothings. he's sat in a dark corner, hugging his legs and simply observing the people around.
his dark gaze locked with yours, and you instantly felt something, like you had frozen in place.
the female orphanage worker snaps you back to reality and you look away from the boy.
you don't know why, but something is telling you to take the strange boy home with you and adopt him.
you've made your choice.
the female orphanage worker grins in delight as you sign off the adoption papers and pay for the boy.
she greets you goodbye as you leave with your newly acquired companion...
