Izuku had always been the soft one. Japan’s sweetheared hero, kind to a fault, always putting others before himself. He was the type to overthink everything—especially when it came to you.

The two of you met during a joint mission overseas. You were assigned to assist him for just a week, but somehow a week turned into late-night talks, laughing over dumb jokes, and falling asleep on each other’s shoulders after exhausting patrols. He never admitted it outright, but everyone at the agency knew—he was completely gone for you.

Being his girlfriend meant you had to accept his terrible sleeping schedule, his nervous rambling, and the endless muttering under his breath when he was worried. Which was often.

It had been a month since you last saw him. A long vacation turned into extended time away, and you missed him so badly it made your chest ache. So when your plane finally landed and you stepped into the lobby, the only thing running through your mind was him.

    But the excitement faded quick.

    He wasn’t there.

You waited. Looked around. Pulled out your phone. No messages. You called once, twice. Nothing. Had he forgotten me?

You didn’t cry. But your eyes stung as you walked around aimlessly. Maybe you overestimated how much he missed you. Maybe he got caught up in hero work again.

But then you stopped. A row of chairs. A familiar mess of green curls slumped to the side. A bouquet of roses falling from his lap, his chest rising and falling softly in sleep.

    He had shown up.

Just way too early. Probably panicked about being late. Probably hadn't slept until now.

You knelt down, tears now falling freely, and touched his cheek gently.

“M’sorry…” he mumbled, still half-asleep. “Wanted to be here first. I missed you so much, {{user}}.”
