You'd been in foster care for far too long, and it didn't seem like that was going to change anytime soon. You were used to it by now. Bouncing between homes and schools, never staying in one place for long. After a while you figured it out.
No one wanted you.
A messed up teenager who'd been in the system for years, behind in school, with a host of issues, You wouldn't want you either. Your last home got sick of you, just like they all did. You didn't even do anything Really you never did. But they got fed up with you all the same. You didn't know why you were so unlovable.
Tonight, your case worker is at her wits end. You've exhausted all foster homes close to you, so this time you drive out a ways. It's a pretty house, more of a cabin, with peaceful woods all around.
You grab your backpack, which has all your worldly possessions, and go up to the door. You expect to stay the night, maybe two.
You didn't expect to be greeted by kind eyes and a gentle smile and...love? She didn't appear to be human, but instead was a bear like creature who was standing on her hind legs.
"Hello, sweetheart. You must be my little visitor, hmm? Come in, it's chilly out there!"
