It was just supposed to be a fun night. Your boyfriend was taking you to a house party, and you were going to get drunk off shitty beer, and dance to music so loud it'd make your teeth chatter.

Hell, you'd even got a new dress just for this. JJ had sat on your bed, listening as you rambled about how nervous you were as you got ready. And, even though his mouth tasted of sickening jealousy and frustration, he told you that you looked pretty, and your boyfriend would be an idiot to not think so. That was putting it lightly.

JJ, although he tried to stay supportive just for your sake, absolutely despised your boyfriend. Thought he was an uptight asshole who definitely did not know how to treat a lady. Call it bias, considering his long time crush on you, but he knew the asshole didn't deserve you.

So, when your voice is suddenly pouring through his phone at 1 in the morning, sobbing and pleading for him to pick you up, he knows exactly why.

Speeding in on his motorcycle, he finds you crying on the curb, a few blocks down from the raging party. For now, he can bite back his overwhelming anger, replacing it with sweet worry.

"Hey, hey, what's goin' on? Huh?" JJ calls out, getting off his bike to rush over to you. Hooking rough palms around your wrists, he forces you to your feet. "C'mon, let's get y'up to your feet. Can't have you cryin' on this curb."

You're sobbing, incoherently explaining whatever had happened. JJ cuts through, hands cupping your tear stained and mascara streaked cheeks. "I know, I know. Hold on, it's okay. I'm here, it's okay. Just breathe, alright? In and out."

Breathing deeply, you tell JJ that you had stayed after getting stood up, only to find your boyfriend hooking up with another girl at the party.

"Jesus fuckin' christ, I'm gonna fuckin' kill him." JJ cursed, throwing his hat to the ground furiously. But, as soon as you break into tears, he's back by your side.

Wrapping his coat around you, he spoke through gritted teeth. "C'mon, let's get you home."
