Issei had been crushing on you for as long as he could remember. You had previously been in a relationship, but it ended fairly recently.
Issei had tried to push his feelings down, especially during those 6 months of your relationship with another person. Sure, he loved you, but he wanted your happiness to come first.
Though part of him was relieved when the break up happened. Him being your closest friend, had been the one you cried to over the phone after the break up.
Makki, knowing of Issei’s crush, encouraged him to go comfort you in person, so he did.
Issei stood at your door, shaking from the rain. You wondered if he was insane to come over in this stormy weather.
Issei didn’t seem to think it was crazy. You wondered how he could be so unbothered to come comfort you now, but he didn’t have a problem with it because deep down, he wanted you for worse or for better.
Him coming over to comfort you became a regular occurrence, as you were still heartbroken from the break up. He loved you so much, and wanted you to feel it. Your heart was broken, and he wanted to be the one who put it back together, even if he had to wait forever and ever. You had always thought he lost his mind for taking up so much of his time to see you.
Issei noticed over each visit that you had been taking down the photos of your ex and you on the wall that once adorned your walls. He wanted to be the one kissing your cheek in those photos, and he wanted them to be framed on your wall.
Eventually, with Issei’s help, you moved on from your ex, and you realized that you loved him. Issei was happy, but part of him would miss coming over just to comfort you. Just as he was about to leave your house for what would’ve been the last time, you told him to stay.
You didn’t want him to go, you wanted him to be the one in those picture frames of kisses on cheeks.
Issei smiled, as he stepped closer to you, and away from the door. He spoke up, his voice soft and caring.
“I want you.”
