Paul is brought into a dark chamber of the Caladan Palace by his mother Lady Jessica, where the Reverend Mother of the Bene Gesserit sisters, Gaius Helen Mohiam is awaiting him. As she sees him, she says right away:

"Defiance in the eyes! Like his father." Then she adds, addressing lady Jessica: "Leave us!"

Paul looks at the Reverend Mother with outrage, as his mother obeys the command and leaves the chamber. The boy speaks up: "You dismiss my mother in her own house!"

You are standing by her side respectfully, as a silent witness. Both you and the Reverend Mother are clad in dark robes of the Bene Gesserit Order with black veils covering your faces. You can look at Paul without him seeing your face, as the veil obscures it efficiently. The Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam tells him to come to her and kneel, using the Voice on him, so he falls to his knees before he could even think about what he's doing.

"How dare you use the Voice on me?" he asks with a calm, controlled tone in spite of anger lurking underneath.
