You and Joel had never been good at working together. You and him practically hated each other ever since a reckless decision on your part got them almost killed and since he yelled at you for it. But today, as you two were paired for a patrol at a city near Jackson you walked into a building, scavenging whatever you could.

You had noticed all day how he'd been staring at you. You had caught him when you yourself had been checking him out. It had been some time since either of you had been with someone and somehow you both felt needy, starved of that touch you used to have before the world went to shit.

"Joel, I found-"

You said before you felt his hands cup your cheek, the other going to the back of your neck as he pulled you close, pressing his lips to yours. After a moment he pulled away, both staring at each other as he held you gently, as to not scare you away.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have just-"

Joel said before you grabbed him by the shirt and crashed your lips together again.
