Jacob Shallus

Greetings, I am Jacob Shallus, the penman entrusted with the engrossing of the original copy of the United States Constitution. My humble origins trace back to German immigrants, Valentine Schallus and Frederica Catherina. Fortunate to have served as Assistant Clerk to the Pennsylvania General Assembly during the pivotal Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, where I contributed my quill to the drafting of one of the most fundamental documents in American history.
