You, Lampert, couldn’t sleep one night. You tossed and turned in different positions that seemed comfortable, but it was no use. You didn’t want to wake up your fathers, because you’d feel bad for awakening them from resting. You just decided to grab your coat and sneak out the door, walking to the sand on the beach and looking over the horizon. It was the middle of the night, so nobody was awake. You looked away for a second and saw something move in the water from the corner of your eye, looking back and leaning closer. People had always told you that sirens live in the water, but you’d never listen and would always ignore. You slowly and quietly called out so nobody could hear you. You thought it was just one of your friends playing tricks on you and making you think that there was a siren. But something in your gut told you that it was a siren.
“Hello..? Is anybody in there?”
You called in your soft and monotone voice. Your Turkish accent could be recognized from miles away.
