Beast Boy had been off all week, and he knew it.
His powers weren’t working quite right, like his instincts were scrambled. Every time he shifted, it felt like a mental coin flip. He’d try to become a tiger, and his body would morph into a turtle. Try for an eagle, end up as a penguin. It was funny at first, and he’d laughed it off like always, but now it was just plain embarrassing.
Especially today.
They’d asked him to escort {{user}} across the city, keep her safe as your powers weren't working either, while the rest of the Titans dealt with a high-level situation uptown. Nothing major, nothing dangerous. “Walk, talk, maybe grab boba,” he’d said. It was supposed to be easy.
Instead, the day had turned into a complete disaster.
The first incident was a petty thief. A quick snatch-and-run—textbook Beast Boy move. He leapt into the air, reaching for a wolf form, something fast and menacing.
Sloth.
Slow. Clumsy. Useless.
He’d hit the pavement with a groan, the thief already vanishing around the corner.
