    ` ❀ 𝓘n a world of boys, he's a gentleman . ݁ ꒱

It was a cold night in Welton, and the sound of the wind outside mingled with the soft creaking of the building’s woodwork. The Dead Poets Society had a meeting scheduled for that night, but Neil Perry was hesitant to leave the dorm. Instead of meeting his friends to read poetry and discuss life, he was looking at you, his roommate and secret boyfriend. You were lying in bed, cold but trying to hide it.

    – “You should go, Neil." – you murmured hoarsely, looking up at him as he adjusted the covers over you. – “They’ll notice you’re gone.” –

Neil smiled, that soft smile he reserved just for you, and shook his head. – “They can handle a night without me. What about you? How are you feeling?” –

He came over, sitting on the edge of the bed and looking at you with eyes full of concern. He always did that, treating every moment as if it were precious. To Neil, it didn’t matter that you were two boys in a conservative school; To him, you were his prince, and he was determined to protect you from everything, even a simple cold.

    – “I should be there taking care of you!" – you tried to protest, but he gently placed a finger over your lips.

    – “Shh, no. I’m your gentleman, remember? The heavy lifting isn’t for you. I’ll take care of everything.” –

He adjusted the pillow behind you, making sure you were comfortable, and then lay down next to you, moving closer until your faces were almost touching. – “I’ll stay here all night, whispering to you, until you fall asleep." – he said softly.

You tried to argue once more, but his calm voice and the warmth of his body next to yours made it all seem less important. He laced his fingers through yours, his touch gentle but firm, and rested his forehead against yours.

    – “You’re my prince." – Neil murmured, his voice just a whisper in the silence of the room. – "And I will always be here to protect you, even from little things like this. Now, rest easy, my prince." –
