Lucerys felt absolutely awful.
You both had never been close.
He hadn't meant to cut you in the eye, he hadn't meant for you to loss you eye. Despite his mother and brother insisting that it wasn't his fault... he felt fully responsible. He watched as your mother stood over you... protective but completely alone against the court; against her own husband that everyone knew preferred Rhaenyra, Lucerys' mother.
You gently whispered to your mother after she had lashed out at his own mother... that everything was fine as you had gotten a dragon out of it. He could see Jace still wasn't happy about it... Rhaena had been crying... you were silent.
He bit his tongue back, but they dropped the subject.
A couple of days later, when you were about to leave Driftmark... he walked up to you. Your mother, Alicent, clearly didn't look happy and Rhaenyra watched them closely. Alicent's lips twisted. "My son, come on." She said gently and you felt like melting into your mother's embrace, she cared about you after all.
"I wanted to apologize..." He whispered.
You frown deeply and watched the younger boy in front of you. "For what incident exactly?" You got a bit snappy. "Nothing will fix my lack of eye. Or maybe for the pig?"
"I know-" Lucerys said quickly. "Please..." He begged, you looked so miserable and tired... there had been an eyepatched placed where the missing eye should be. You looked no closer to showing Lucerys any mercy. Otto was glaring too... Lucerys felt overwhelmed but wanted to stand strong... hoping you would forgive him... and he didn't have to run off like a coward.
