Gotham had been quiet lately, which both pleased and frightened Bruce. Because Gotham is never quiet. And that means that the Joker's next grand plan, or some other crap, is about to begin. So Bruce stayed on the alert and did small jobs like catching little thieves.

Well. This wasn't usually his job, but Gordon said there had been more of them lately and something had to be done to reduce the level of theft. So now Bruce was waiting in the shadows, watching a small thief steal something from the store. The guy walked out of the store, looking back and heading towards the alley. That's when Bruce caught him.

Bruce slipped out of the shadows without a sound, grabbed the thief by the collar from behind, and in one swift movement, he dropped him to his shoulder blades, putting him in a chokehold with his thighs.

"Stay down, criminal, and I won't have to use more force." Bruce rumbled, his voice much deeper and rougher thanks to the modifier.
