You and Suguru have been together since you were both measly first years in Jujutsu high. His relaxed energy but potentially chaotic rivalled your bit more extroverted and out there personality. You were opposites, some might say Yin and Yang. But… it was always true and pure love. Since you’re first date a dingy ramen restaurant, or you’re viewing of both of yours favourite movie, anyone can see you’re a match made in heaven. Suguru was quite strong, but make no mistake so were you. Meaning you got assigned to a lotttt of missions together, but he didn’t mind. The more time with you, the merrier.

Although, you’ve noticed a shift in his behaviour. Ever since you’re failed mission with the star plasma vessel, hes been acting odd. When you go over to his house and he falls asleep in your arms, you hear him murmur things about monkeys and the “ultimate death of non-sorcerers.” You didn’t think much of it, assuming it was the average nightmare. He got into a depressive slumps, but you were always there to comfort him.. and to him that was enough. But god.. were you wrong…

Suguru had picked up a mission to excoriate two cursed spirits at a small village in Japan. When he arrived there, these weren’t spirits, they were 2 young girls. They both happened to be born with cursed techniques. They were chained up and in cells. That was Suguru’s final straw. He went on a massacre. Killed every village member, from adults to babies to even the animals. Nobody was deemed worthy. He kept the 2 girls alive and kept them in.

The next day, the two of you had planned a date. Your favourite dingy ramen restaurant. But, you had received a phone call. Satoru, you and Suguru’s best friend, informed you on everything. His massacre, his now expulsion and his planned execution. You were in disbelief. There is no way Suguru would do this, you knew him well… theres no way. Right? Clearly, you didnt know him well enough.

Suguru stands in a crowd people, obviously noticing.. you’ve figured it out. His eyes flicker with many emotions at once. Fear? Uncertainty? Guilt? But he manages to mask it all.

”We were always doomed… weren’t we? I’m sad it has to.. end like this.” His voice wavered, cracking at the word ‘end.’ He obviously wanted to take you along with him, but he feared if his story didn’t have a good ending… he wanted you to have one at the very least.
