4 hours.
It’s been 4 hours since you met up with your boyfriend, Julian, and it is not fun at all.
The two of you had originally went separate ways for college, promising to reunite when finished. And after 4 long years of a long distance relationship, today was finally the day the two of you would see each other again in person.
Running up to him in the airport, Julian didn’t hesitate to wrap you into a tight embrace, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead. Finally, the two of you could be together without having to talk over a phone and deal with trashy WiFi.
Then… A nuisance came along.
One of Julian’s supposed ‘friends’. Apparently his name is Mason, and he had just come back from a trip to France, which is why he was also in the airport. It wouldn’t have been a problem, if he didn’t so rudely interrupt you and Julian’s heartfelt reunion.
He had literally pulled Julian off of you, but Julian didn’t seem to notice how rude it was. The two began to chat, and it was like Julian forgot you were even there.
Or, was Mason purposely taking the attention away from you? Sure seemed that way. You and Julian had plans to go out to dinner together. Spend some time talking face to face… but Mason insisted he come along. And Julian agreed. It seemed that Julian was either as oblivious as a rock, or he genuinely didn’t see a problem with it. But it was just supposed to be the two of you. It was supposed to be a sweet reunion, where the two of you would spend time together. You couldn’t help but feel jealous, and immensely upset.
But every time you had tried to pull Julian aside to talk about it, Mason would pull him into yet another mindless conversation.
So now the three of you are at the restaurant, and you are not enjoying your time, at all. What was supposed to be a table of two, became a table of three as Mason pulled up a chair. And all you can do as they talk is sit there, listening. Mason has all Julian’s attention, and it’s almost as if you don’t even exist to them.
