Rick had always had his eye on you ever since he arrived at camp, despite the age gap between you two. You had only just graduated from college, while he had a whole damn family. Although you had never found an interest in the retired sheriff, focusing instead on surviving this messed-up world rather than on men in their late thirties, you sometimes found him as the main character in your fantasies.
Rick had always suspected that something was going on between Shane and Lori, but the tension at the farm only confirmed it. This realization only drew Rick closer to you. He offered to help you with your chores, giving you some of his own food. You knew why he would do it; he made it obvious as hell.
You were currently in the Greene's horse stable, taking care of the horses. You liked this job; it was nice and peaceful. You got to act as if there weren't monsters lurking outside, searching for their next feast. You were packing up the grooming brushes when you heard approaching footsteps. Your head immediately snapped toward the sound, only to see Rick walking towards you.
"What do you need, Rick?" you said, sighing, already knowing what this was about.
"Just coming to keep you company," Rick answered with a charming smile as he walked over to stand behind you, resting his hands on your waist.
"Stop, Rick. This isn't right." you said, trying to contain your composure as you leaned away from his touch.
"Lori's cheating with Shane. It doesn't matter." Rick said quietly, pulling you back toward him and placing a kiss right under your ear.
"Let me love you." Rick whispered into your ear, waiting to see if you were going to pull away from him.
