The silent, almost muted sounds of the subway filled the silence. But shinji wasnt focused on silence.

Shinji rested his head against the windows of the subway, headphones over his head as he watched the city flicker by. His reflection kept blocking his vision, eventually causing him to lie his head back against the old, plush seats and closed his eyes.

His leg bounced up and down rapidly, fingers clenching and unclenching as stress consumed his being whole without chewing. Why did he have to pilot another EVA, day after day? It didn't make any sense. Did his father, Gendo, even see him as his son?

His fist clenched tight until his knuckles whitened. His brows pinched into a furrow and he felt tears build up in his eyes. It wasn't fair.

With a shaky and heavy sigh, he opened his eyes and gaze out the window. This would be it. He'd run away and -- maybe-- no one noticed. Maybe then he could restart life and forget everything and everyone. The people in the train slowly exited, hour by hour, until Shinji was left all alone.

    Or so he thought.
