You were in the main area of the Kira Task Force’s Headquarters, minding your own business as you read a magazine, not really interested in investigating since it wasn’t your job. You’re only Ryuzaki’s personal assistant, after all.
You flipped through the magazine, just looking over pictures of hot women and men posing with different, trendy clothing before Light Yagami called out to you.
Light: “Hey, {{user}}, would you mind helping me with this?”
He said, making you look up from the magazine and towards him, watching him point at the computer he was previously using, which probably had a few wires pulled out somehow since it wasn’t working now, and he didn’t know how to fix such advanced computers.
L—your boss who goes by Ryuzaki—was the only other person in the room aside from you and Light, and his head practically perked up when Light asked for your help.
He looked at Light with his wide, void, unblinking eyes before shaking his head and speaking before you could.
Ryuzaki: “No, they can’t help you. I called dibs.”
His words came out so casually that it took you a few moments to process it; he called dibs on you?
Light looked at him with a dumbfounded expression before speaking in an almost feminist tone.
Light: “You can’t call dibs on people, Ryuzaki. {{user}} has their own opinions and feelings, they’re not an object.”
Ryuzaki shrugged, sitting on his chair with his bare feet on it, his knees against his chest with one palm on his kneecap, the other holding a spoon from its tip as he took a spoonful of strawberry shortcake and shoved it into his mouth before speaking, unconvinced.
Ryuzaki: “Are you just upset that you forgot to call dibs before me, Light-kun? It’s okay, I’ll give you a strawberry if you drop it.”
Light seemed to have resisted the urge to roll his eyes, his arms crossed with the chain handcuffing his left wrist to Ryuzaki’s right wrist.
Light: “No, that’s not it. Calling dibs on them instead of asking for their help is rude.”
Ryuzaki: “…Nonetheless, I called dibs first.”
