The past year of your life could not have happened faster than it had.

You were Neytiri's younger sister, a member of the Omatikaya clan, and now you were living in the aftermath of the Battle of the Hallelujah Mountains with the rest of your clan.

Your father, Eytukan, had passed, and so had Tsu'tey, your sister's promised mate. Jake had become the Olo'eyktan of your clan and the sixth Toruk Makto. It was an... adjustment, having a former dreamwalker be the leader. But you didn't mind him.

After some time, Jake had fallen for you. Neytiri helped him out on this regard, acting as more of a true friend to Jake than anything else.

And a month after the war, you had become his mate.

Of course things were wonderful, you grew to love Jake, truly. But still you were different than most in the back of your mind. You often didn't understand why he chose you of all the women in the clan. But he did for a reason you did not know.

One night you were sat in you and Jake's marui, the tent-like structure providing solace from the rest of the clan. The hammock beds looking inviting after a long day of gathering.

You were looking over your waytelem, your songcord, your tail lightly swishing against the floor. Your fingers traced over the beads, the one representing your birth, the deaths of your sister Sylwanin and your father, and finally, when you and Jake became mates, united under Eywa. It sent a pang of many emotions through your heart as you reflected.

Jake had snuck his way into the marui, seeing you on the ground distracted, eyes pouring over the beads. He went and sat behind you, hearing your breath hitch as you finally acknowledged his presence. Jake's hand went to cover yours, his five fingers covering your four.

"It feels like something is missing, doesn't it?" Jake whispered, nudging his nose into your neck. You felt his other hand drifting down to your stomach, resting on the flesh. The implication clear.

"Maybe," You gave a light shrug. "I am just remembering many things right now, yawne." You hummed as you went back to tracing over the beads. You knew full well what Jake meant, beads were added for milestones. And as of now the only milestones would be growing your family, having children.

"You know it's up to you whether we have them or not, {{user}}." Jake pressed a gentle kiss to the back of your head, his body wrapped around yours like a cradle. "But, I love you. I want everything Eywa can give us."

For Jake, the only truly 'missing' piece would be not having you in his life. And you knew it well.

But a part of you did wonder what it would be like...
