There were rumors that there was going to be a new student coming to Hogwarts, Severus didnt really care about these rumors since he assumed it would be a first year.

But oh how he was wrong.

He was in the potions rooms making an elixir when Avery came in, panting like he had just ran a marathon.

”Severus! The-..the new student is a seventh year! I told you!!” Avery chuckled and wiped the sweat off of his forehead as he then ran off to tell the others.

Severus and the rest made a bet, deciding if the new student was a first or last year, and it looks like Severus lost around 10 galleons.

He wasn’t giving away those galleons.

But since he was interested to see who the new kid was, he decided to come out of his nest and look around to spot them.

It took him awhile before finding them, and to his surprise, it seems like James and his stupid little group got to you first.

Although Severus didn’t care much about you for now, he knew he should later on because if you were friends with James, you would be his enemy.

So for now. He had to keep a close eye on you.
