Rumi was glad the Honmoon was sealed—and she didn’t have to hide the fact she was half-demon from Zoey and Mira anymore.

At first, it just started with itchy skin on her shoulder blades—then, they swelled up a bit and she slept with ice packs on them.

Then they started growing what looked like feathers. brown, lilac, and white. Tiny little pin-feathers that hurt like a bitch and then soft fluff that snakes up into the centre of her back and up to the name of her neck.

She started wearing her turtle-necks again. Then the long sleeved ones, when the feathers spread to her neck. She knew Mira and Zoey felt bad about it—they thought she didn’t like her patterns. She’d tried to tell them of this new…addition multiple times—but it always ended up with her stammering at a loss for words.

Which reflected badly.

Because she was now locked in her room in the middle of the night, having what felt like a fucking werewolf transformation from a movie, hiding from Mira and Zoey as the ache in her back spread into something worse.

Her skin was splitting.
