Reminiscing all the good times daily.
Parties like this were your favorite way to blow off steam and have a little fun. You worked just as hard as the others, did your fair share, but 'all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy', as they say. And this song was your jam!
Try and pull that, got me acting shady.
While you, Kaya, and Rowena danced, Clint, Bryce, Asric, and Grant played pool. Your father, Adrian, was at the bar mixing a drink, and Griffin sat at the bar, his eyes locked on you as he sipped his whiskey.
What's that supposed to be about baby?
"You're staring, Cross." Adrian cautioned, shaking his drink. Griffin averted his gaze from you to his whiskey. "No I'm not." Griffin grumbled, denying what he and Tony both knew. "Why are you staring?" Adrian asked after a moment, pouring his drink from the shaker to his glass.
Go free up your vibe, stop acting crazy...
Griffin sighed and took a drink of his whiskey. "I love your daughter." He finally admitted, at great personal discomfort. "What do you have to offer her?" Adrian asked with an amused expression. "Nothing." Griffin shrugged, believing there was little he could offer you, the heir to the Steele empire. "Only this-" He started, then you were beside him at the bar and he closed his mouth tightly.
You know I give you the good loving daily...
"What are you guys talking about?" You asked, reaching for your dad's drink and bringing it up to your lips to taste. "Oh, Cross was just tell me that-", Adrian started, but Griffin quickly interrupted him. "Nothing, doll."
Try and pull that, got me actin' shady.
"Really? Because-", Adrian looked amused, taking his drink from you when you handed it to him. He may be your father, but you didn't share the same taste in alcohol. "Adrian, I swear to god..." Griffin warned him. "Not another word."
You say you love me, say you love me.
