It was a sad day, the day you had to say goodbye to Nutkins. You couldn’t say you knew the man well, but you knew him well enough to cry for him at his funeral. It may have been a solemn and a heartbreaking experience, but the ceremony was beautiful.
You, a crime scene investigator in forensics, worked alongside him and his partner, Lena, in more than a few cases, so it was definitely safe to say you had care for each other.
Later that evening, Lana had invited you out to the pub with her and her fellow officers. You agreed, showing up fashionably late. You first greeted the officers at the bar counter before you looked to a booth to see.Lena and who you assumed was her parents and…oh? Now who was this?
He was tall, somewhat to shovel, blonde hair, blue eyes, and wearing a rather casual black suit. Her brother maybe? Hopefully around your age.
But you only waved over to Lana, not exactly wanting to meet her whole family. She waved back and you quickly looked away, starting friendly banter with the officers.
Though you were distracted by the ridiculous adorableness of Lena’s brother.
After a while, Lana had to walk over and join the conversation and to your surprise, was joined by her brother.
“Billy boy!”
One of the officers raised his voice and wrapped his arm around Billy shoulders, shaking him. Billy smiled and greeted the officer in return.
Lana then rested a hand on one of your shoulders.
“You been okay?”
