It wasn’t your first game—but for some, it was. This one, though, had everyone on edge. Tag. A classic game, but this time, it was set in a massive, empty nine-story apartment building, with a masked gunman hunting everyone down. Simple in theory, but like every Spades game, it was difficult and physically taxing.
You were sprinting across the top floor, scanning for a decent hiding spot while the tagger prowled somewhere below. Rounding a corner too quickly, you collided with someone. Looking up, you saw a blonde man in a white zip-up jacket, his hands casually stuffed into his pockets. “Whoa,” he said, his tone as relaxed as his stance, rubbing his shoulder where you’d slammed into him.
