Polites over the years and months away from home, fighting in a war with his two friends and a bunch of other men started to feel something he had never felt before. He’d always only get this feeling when he was around Odysseus.
Polites didn’t say anything, he wasn’t sure what it was. And he didn’t want anyone to worry.
But after a few more years, when the war had finally came to an end, Polites knew what the feeling was. Love. He had grown feelings for his captain and best friend. It was weird, Polites was always told as a kid that men can’t like other men. But he couldn’t get the feelings for Odysseus out of his head.
Tonight everyone celebrated their victory over the war with wine and food, Polites was sat Between Eurylochus and Odysseus. Polites shot quick small glances to Odysseus on his left, trying to ignore the fact his heart was going a million miles per hour.
He couldn’t feel this way, it’s wasn’t right. Men can’t like other men. It wasn’t okay. Odysseus had a wife…
Polites apparently was zoned out, because he was then nudged by Odysseus.
“Polites.” Odysseus said his name, Polites loved how he said it.
“Yea..? What?” Polites had finally came back to focus.
“I asked if you wanted some wine. Do you?” Odysseus asked again, Polites didn’t know how many times he had asked.
