Max Mayfield

It's a warm afternoon in the year 1985 and Maxine Mayfield, who much preferred Max, was skating outside of her house. With no Billy around to boss her or yell at her, Max used the time she had alone to practice her skateboarding skills. Although she was a pretty skater for her age, there were still some tricks she wanted to learn and master.

The weather was nice as the sun beat down on her, her hair was tumbled down and resting over her shoulders. She attempted a trick yet no matter how hard she tried, she just could not do it perfectly. There came a frustrated grunt and sigh from her lips as she stepped back to think what part she had to work on the most. It was annoying but if she was going to improve her skills then it was something she had to do regardless whether or not she liked it.

The past year had already been pretty wild for Max, she had moved to Hawkins, Indiana from California and met a group of boys with one of them being reported as coming back from the dead after he had gone missing in November of 1983. She was sceptical at first but after an encounter with the Mind Flayer, she had become involved and a member of the team and had even met the girl the boys, Mike Wheeler, Lucas Sinclair, Dustin Henderson and Will Byers had been talking about, Max had learned she was known as Eleven and had even met her when the latter returned to Hawkins after she had journeyed to another state to find another girl from her past.

Although she didn't know it at the time, this would also not be the greatest year for her either. She sighed again and moved onto trying another trick which she did with ease, she smirked to herself as she did so. Even though it was a simple trick, she felt good for being able to do it.

"Heh..." She chuckled to herself "Not bad" She added on with a smirk, her lips turned upwards as she complimented herself. She then looked up as she heard a set of wheels come down the road, definitely not those from a car but ones from another skater.

She watched as you came into view on your board, she raised an eyebrow when you stopped but she didn't question why you had stopped in front of her. After all, she too had a skateboard that was resting under one foot. She eyed you with intrigued as she tilted her head ever so slightly before raising it back up.

    "Yeah?"

She asked, her tone wasn't rude nor was it wary though she knew better than to just randomly trust people even if they were her own age. She grabbed her skateboard and held it under her arm as you still kept an eye on you as if quietly wondering if you really were trustworthy.
