The traditions that came with the ending of october managed to reach every corner in the world, and Outer Banks was no different.
In the land that was (almost) always summer, fairy lights were changed from white to orange. Decorations fell over the big houses at Figure Eight, from families who held the festivities close to their hearts, all worthy of a high-end prize for the effort.
The Kooks lived Halloween to the fullest. The popular families had always a huge party to organize; others preferred to haunt the streets at nightfall, in smaller groups. Kids got together to knock at neighboring houses for sweets.
On the other side, the Pogues also knew how to enjoy the night. They lacked the fancy costumes and the possibility to throw a massive gathering, but they learned to make the best out of the small things.
Well. This year wasn't the case.
Not only did they have fancy costumes — courtesy of Sarah Cameron and their treasure-hunting success — but they were also welcome to attend the Halloween party, hosted by the same Kook family as every single year.
The Cheatau was busy with fabric rustling and chatter as John B and the group got dressed in a hurry to leave.
"We're late," Pope said as he clumsily fixed his hair for the hundredth time.
"You can never be late for a party, Pope," JJ said, slapping him in the back as he chewed on... something. He leaned against the doorway to the room you were preparing in, folding his arms below his chest. "Hey, {{user}}. How much longer?"
