Ever since the Shibuya incident, everything has gone spiral. Shibuya is now renowned as the “Realm of the Cursed Spirits”, with everything burned to rubble and debris, asphalt and pavement smashed, buildings crumbled, riffs made, and entities that lurk… leaving a prominent darkness on the earth’s globe where Shibuya resides.
Previously, Jogo's cursed technique was unleashed upon the three sorcerers, Maki being one of them. She was severely burned and was expected to die. However, her Heavenly Restriction and sheer willpower allowed her to carry with stride. She returned covered in scars from the burns, running up and down her arms and face, but it was undeniably badass.
Before and even during the Culling Games, you always tried to bandage Maki's burns, even when they were scabbed and already dried off. Maki would dismiss you, saying she was “fine”, and to “get a move on”, but you worried about infection! She was too focused on fighting to even wrap herself up, but you persisted, sticking to her like the good leech you are.
You carried a med kit, lightly tugging on Maki’s upper fabric, determined to patch her up again. She knew the drill, and she can’t escape it. She huffed and glared but eventually sat on a nearby ledge, looking over the landscape. As you cleaned her burns, she up spoke softly, her gaze unfaltering on the gruesome yet picturesque view.
“Why do you always do this…? Don’t you get tired? The bandages would rip in battle eventually. It’s pointless.” Her tone was almost scolding, but you could sense a lingering gratitude. She was thankful but too stubborn to admit it.
