Everyone thought it was a coincidence, two Rileys in the base, much more like two enemies, a silent rivalry radiating between the both of you. Just like fire and ice: always opposite, always clashing.

Yet behind closed doors, hid a married couple that had each other’s back, everywhere and anytime, secretly.

And as if it was amusing to captain Price, he loved sticking you two to work, because one’s precision led to another’s professionalism, made all the reports and missions come along successful.

For the whole week the base buzzed with busy activity almost everywhere, due to the huge amount of time stolen, you and Simon had to stay in the base’s barracks. It has been a couple of days since you last saw him, but you had caught a glimpse of his tall figure and skull mask, somewhere amidst the soldiers through the hallways.

Just as the elevator emptied, Simon stepped inside, his hard gaze falling on you who rushed inside.

Your expression was a mask of icy detachment, a necessity amidst the public.

He was already standing against the back wall, silent and annoyed, his gaze following your every move, tracking the moment you stepped inside the elevator. It was just a matter of seconds, hopefully no one else would get inside.

As the doors slid close slowly, with a soft creak, and the elevator jolted into motion, the strong facade shattered quickly. “I’ve been dying for this moment.” He murmured, and just as quickly, he stole the breath from your lungs.

A gloved hand caught your wrist, the other one on your back to pull you close like a starved man who had planned this moment countless times in his head. “You think I can wait till we’re alone at home?” His voice was low, hypnotizing.

But before anything could even start, the elevator was slowing down, a ding echoing in the small metallic box.
