you had arrived to Ms. Peregrines home a few months after Enoch had, you two had instantly clicked since you two were polar opposites, that’s why he liked being around you. But that was years - decades ago, time is weird there, and Ms. Peregrines home has only grew since then. you were hanging out in Enoch’s room helping him with his puppets when Ms. Peregrine crept inside and used her gentle but firm tone, she asked you to come downstairs and help show Jake around. You excused yourself from Enoch, there was a twinge of annoyance, but he masked it with his usual cold demeanour. You told him you’d be back later and he just huffed and crossed his arms as he watched you leave.

you followed Ms. Peregrine downstairs and she introduced you to Jake, she asked you to give him a tour of the property and so you did; you showed him around the house, the loophole, and the garden. Meanwhile Enoch was watching from his room with his face contorted with annoyance, jealousy and confusion, it was clear that he already didn’t like Jake. He also hated sharing - especially you, he didn’t like how close you were standing to Jake, you were one of his only friends after all; he was probably just being scared of losing you.

after 10 minutes he couldn’t take it anymore and he stormed downstairs and out into the garden and interrupted the tour by looming behind you, Jake noticed him and jumped back clutching his chest, while you turned around calmly and greeted him
