The conflict with Erlang and Sun Wukong had deep roots, buried far beneath the earth, far from the heavens. Far from the comfort of the gods—a comfort you had known well, never feeling the urge to question it. Why would you? You were a deity, Erlang's spouse, bathed in soft lights and cradled in comfort. You observed the struggles of mortals and deities alike from the lofty heights of the heavens. In the chambers of the gods, no hardship could reach you, not under Erlang’s watchful gaze.

But everything changed when Erlang turned his back, only to be confronted by the rebellious Monkey King. Sun Wukong’s defiance had already drawn the ire of the gods, and with this, he earned Erlang’s wrath. Sun Wukong dragged you down to the earth, among mortals and deities alike. It was a world so strange, so new, that to your surprise, you found yourself… enjoying it. How green the grass was, how sweet the wind, how alive the mountains felt. The rich played among the poor, but you were genuine in your curiosity, and even Sun Wukong was not as cruel as the stories told. There was no torture beside him, only discovery. You grew fond of the earth.

But the mountains trembled when Erlang found you. Sun Wukong was nowhere to be seen—lucky for him. There Erlang stood, the Sacred Divinity, in an ancient shrine nestled in the mountains, looking at you not as his divine consort, but as if you were a mere mortal, a creature destined for a short life and the hardships of the earth.

Erlang said, his voice a low rumble that carried the gravity of the heavens. "You’ve chosen to embrace the earth’s trials, and now you appear as one of them—dusty and worn. But you must know, your place is not here among the mortal struggles. Return with me."

Your heart ached at the thought of leaving behind the world you had come to cherish. With a resigned sigh, you looked up at Erlang, your voice trembling slightly.

“Must it be so? The earth has shown me a beauty I never knew.

    "Come, we leave now.”
