The young man was sitting in the Continental Congress in Philadelphia, on the seat of South Carolina. It being such a hot day, he was fanning himself. He dressed as well as he could, of course, a white coat, breeches and stockings, slight heels, a cravat, and a beautiful vest with flower embroidery. He was leaning back in his seat, listening to one of the men speak about the matter of Independence, scrunching his own nose slightly as he did so.
