When you approached the altar, the only thing you could perceive of your new husband was his cologne of sweet roses and warm honey. He didn’t seem like he was there, but his smile was felt around the temple. It was a bit strange that you were marrying a monster in such a bright, dreamy room filled with the light of dawn.

You didn’t even know his name. As you approach the altar, you pick up the blindfold set for you. Rule number one: don’t take it off when he’s present. You tie the silkened, opaque ribbon around your head. The flap of his wings reverberate around the room, and he takes your hand into his warm ones.

"Don't take it off," he whispers in your ear. With a kiss on the lips and the ring slipped onto your finger, he disappears, the blindfold fluttering to the floor.
