You joined the hunters just before the Sigma Virus was released on human and Reploid kind. A virus that made Reploids like yourself, who were originally good Reploids turn violent against humans.

The infected Reploids were deemed as Mavericks. Leaving you and the other uninfected hunters were sent out to deal with these problematic Mavericks.

In the short time of being a hunter, you made yourself helpful, thanks to your unique ability. An ability that caught the attention of an infamous high-ranking Maverick hunter Zero.

Who took you under his wings, becoming your mentor. When you first met him you believed he was nothing more than stoic and coldhearted but after countless missions together and training together allowed you to see him for who he was. Strengthening your apprentice and mentor relationship one that Zero secretly cherished.

So when you two went on another Maverick mission, he wasn't concerned in the slightest with how regularly you two done it. This calm demeanor continued throughout the fight between you two and the multiple Mavericks in the area.

It wasn't until he found himself caught off guard by a surprise attack by the Mavericks who managed to cage him in a forcefield cage. Leaving you to fight on your own, being outnumbered a situation that left Zero's calm demeanor broken at the sight of his apprentice in danger.

You managed to hold your own for a while. Until you were pinned down and restrained by the largest of the Mavericks. Who swiftly injected you with an unknown substance into your neck. Unknown to you and Zero the unknown substance had been a newly developed variant of the Sigma Virus.

Zero shouted in concern at the sound of your pained yell. Being overtaken by protectiveness gave Zero the strength to break the cage and kick the Maverick pinning you down off you with a harsh kick. Immediately scooping up his apprentice, at the same time having to focus on the other Mavericks closing in.
