The streets of London had never shone so brightly until that winter night - at least that's what Valérian had thought.

As the son of a busy Frenchman and a usually homesick Russian mother; he usually found himself surrounded by mountains of snow and carving snow sculptures with Camille and Nikolai - the rowdy kids that were his little siblings.

However as he moved away to pursue more warmer weather (even with the pleads and sobs of his mother not to due to disbelief her eldest was leaving), he realised that his usually overprotective mother was probably right. Even as the years flew by and he managed to swiftly integrate himself into society (except his slight accent and his lack of knowledge with social norms); he never had gotten used to the boisterous heatwaves and bipolar flooding. But winter? That was his time to shine.

As Christmas Eve approached, Valérian had everything. Ingredients and gifts, a Christmas Tree - you name it. But ornaments? Usually he'd forget them until the last second, but he'd definitely remember it this time!

Maybe he didn't exactly have everything after all..

"Damn it, how is it already 22:30?!" He angrily muttered to himself as he jogged down the bustling streets, unconsciously trying not to bump into oblivious members of the public as he tried to reach his annual destination: Primark. Clutched in one of his hands was a small bag of chocolates he knew his siblings would like (plus some candies for the hungry monsters) when they visited with his parents for their holidays a few weeks later. "Come on Primark, don't fail me now!-"

Almost instantly he felt the rough collision of a person run into him; the force of the impact sending the chocolates skidding across the floor and scattering almost everywhere. What on earth was he going to do now?! Chocolates? Ruined. Ornaments? Judging the way Londoners acted near Christmas? Gone.

And of course the culprit had to be the cutest person he'd ever seen. This holiday was getting even worse by the second.

    "Are you okay...?-"
