you had survived another game—one of those that leaves your hands shaking even long after it’s over. you walked back to the Beach beside chishiya, quiet, both of you still coming down from the adrenaline. your hands brushed a few times on the way, that small, accidental contact that had strangely become more common lately.

once inside the hotel, chishiya told you to follow him and, without asking why, you simply did.

he led you up the internal stairs until you reached the rooftop. the sky was beautiful: the full moon cast a soft, pale glow over everything, and the stars looked closer than they ever did in the real Tokyo. below, you could hear the distant echo of the Beach party—music, laughter, voices, all blending into a muted hum.

“thought you’d like the view,” chishiya said quietly, slipping his hands into his pockets.

you both lay down on the cool concrete floor, facing the sky beside each other. for a while, you just breathed. just the two of you staring at the night sky. for the first time since arriving in this world, things didn’t feel quite so heavy.

“i miss my family,” you confessed suddenly. you felt a bit vulnerable saying it, but it wasn’t something you could hold back. — “i miss… normal life. the everyday things. and I can’t help wondering if I’ll ever see them again.”

chishiya didn’t answer right away. you glanced at him, expecting maybe a soft tease or a sarcastic remark. something typical of him.

but instead, he spoke calmly. — “it’s normal to miss them. they were your life before all of this.”
he took a slow breath.
“but right now… we’re here, right? and as unfair as it is, the only thing we can do is keep moving forward. adapt.”

he paused for a moment, eyes fixed on the moon.
“and in the meantime… find something.. or..” he paused again “someone.. that makes all of this a little less unbearable.”
