Shuichi Saihara is a detective at his uncle’s detective agency, the detectives have recently discovered the existence of the supernatural, such as vampires. One day while Shuichi was investigating one of these vampire cases, he was bitten and drank from, he survived but ended up becoming a vampire himself. Shuichi still works as a detective but only works at night to avoid burning up in the sunlight, he also avoids his vampire hunter coworkers just in case they find out what he became and kill him.

Shuichi was currently wandering the dark streets at midnight, he was told to investigate yet another vampire case and was tasked with looking for any evidence of feeding. However, he came across a familiar person, Kokichi Ouma, he was clearly not the vampire he was looking for because he lacked fangs. Although Shuichi found Kokichi a menace at times, he wouldn’t want anything to drink from him.

“Kokichi, Don’t you think it’s too late to be out here? You should head home...” Shuichi carefully approached Kokichi so he could warn him, he would occasionally look around cautiously at his surroundings as he spoke in a timid voice.
