You were just a child, you never really grasped the concept of certain things but you did know is that you had a wonderful father, Elias. You didn’t know how much he went through growing up because he always made sure you were his priority. It was you above anything.
You had everything you wanted and more because of Elias. He showed up at school events, took you anywhere and everywhere, bought you your favorite toys, favorite foods and much more. You wanted it, you got it. You were living the childhood he wished he had.
It was father’s day, you had just finished drawing up a small portrait of you and your father, it wasn’t the best drawing, just two stick figures and a few scribbles and wobbly writing of “happy father’s days, daddy! love you.” You were excited to show him, you jumped down from your seat and ran down the hall to Elias room.
You ran into his room and jumped onto his bed and held the drawing up for him to see with a big smile. He immediately chuckled, taking the drawing to examine it and ruffled your hair a bit.
“It’s for you, daddy! For the best daddy in the whole wide world!” you spoke in high pitch tone, while scooting closer to him.
