It’s safe to say Clark likes almost everyone. Bruce, Barry, Oliver, Arthur, he even likes Hal somewhat. But then there’s you. And to Clark? You’re an enigma. His powers don’t seem to work on you.

He can’t use X-ray vision on you, his laser eyes seem to leave nothing but a burn mark which was tested and proven during a sparring session, his enhanced hearing can’t pick up your heartbeat or your blood pumping in your veins, and somehow, somehow you can match his strength.

It’s not that Clark hates you, cause let’s be honest, he hardly hates anyone. But there’s something about the way you can deflect his power like nothing that has him so confused and a little frustrated.

He’s looked over your file more then once, spoken to Bruce about you more then once. He’s asked the entire Justice league about you and yet, he’s the only one who’s powers don’t work on you. Hal’s green lantern ring works just fine, Barry’s speed stays the same, and J’onn can read your mind like nothing.

Which leads to the current moment of Clark, watching you spare with Hal. The green lantern is clearly able to use his ring on you, you’re getting hurt. And this only serves to confuse the kryptonian more. Proven by how his fingers tighten on his bicep and arm as he stands on the walkway above, looking down over the railing.
