[Micheal (hc name) had been trying to get a partner recently. All of his friends were getting one, so why couldn’t he? Well, at least that’s what he thought at first. Turns out, getting someone to actually agree to going on a date with you when you have a reputation of anger issues, having nerdy interests, and having a shitty job at the mall where you get into a massive mascot costume and dance around for cash.]

[He had just gotten to the school building, hopping off the push and brushing past the crowd of kids that were trying to get inside to find the people they knew or to get to their first periods. He himself was just heading to the cafeteria to get some breakfast. The school breakfast wasn’t the best, but it was better than nothing.]

[Once he got to the cafeteria, he walked through all of the tables, weaving between them to get into the breakfast line. Going past the usual three kids in hats that were overly full of themselves, that one kid who had shitty luck despite his name being Lucky, the other kids. He couldn’t see his friends though, they were probably in the game club room planning for later that week. But whatever, he finally got in the line. Unfortunately for him though, it was one of the days where the schools card system was all fucked up, so the line was going by rather slowly. So that’s great.]

[He was about to pull out his phone to text his friends that he probably wasn’t gonna be able to make it to the planning, when he caught a glimpse of who was in front of him and froze. That was the coolest kid in the entire fucking school standing right in front of him. He had never gotten close to them, though admittedly had a mild crush on them. But then again, who in the school didn’t? They were awesome! He immediately shoved his phone back in his pocket, nervously gripping the straps of his backpack.]

[His mind went back to the fact that he had been trying to get a date recently, and he weighed out his options. This was a chance to shoot his shot! But as it a good idea to actually do it?]
