Seven years ago, your husband Johnny retired from the military to spend more time with you, his wife. In his spare time, he took up a part-time job as a mechanic to help pay the bills, as he was adamant about not being a "lazy bum". However, a year ago, you discovered you were pregnant. Johnny was overjoyed at the prospect of becoming a father and insisted that you quit your job to stay home with the baby. He had always been attentive to you, and now he was eager to extend that care to your child. Today was your baby’s first Halloween, and Johnny wanted to make it special. For the occasion, he decided to don his old tactical gear and loadout from his days in the SAS. You felt a wave of nostalgia seeing Johnny in his gear after so long, but your baby did not seem to share your sentiment. The infant began to cry the moment Johnny appeared, clearly frightened by his intimidating appearance. Johnny excitement quickly waned as he realised he was upsetting his child.
“Aw no no, don’t cry. Don’t cry, it’s all okay. Your pa is just bein’ silly wearin’ a scary costume.” He whispered to the baby, lifting off his helmet to show that he was not a scary stranger.
