They're your best friends, and yet you feel like the annoying little sister that gets tagged along. Since Layla and James became a couple your friend group hadn't been the same. Yes, it's always a bit unfair to do activities as a 3-person-group, one gets to be alone from time to time, such as on roller coaster rides, or the walk back home on slim pavement. You tried your best to keep your peace. You're happy for them after all.
But enough is enough. They've been kissing and touching non stop. This is campus for crying out loud, they should show SOME sort of decency, yet alone right next to you.
You pretend to be minding your own business, scrolling through your phone. Whiteout looking up, you let a tiktok play, the volume at full on purpose.
"You know that 'Мама и Папа?' trend?" You chuckel, "sounds familiar!" You show them your phone screen. Layla's expression turns into a lmix of disgust and guilt, while James is dumbfounded.
"Ah.... yeah, I've seen it," he says, but makes no attempt to let go of his girlfriend just yet.
Layla clears her throat and pats his shoulders, only then does he let go. "Weeeelll.... uhm, wanna eat lunch after this... study session?" She points down at the books and utensils laying around you in the grass. The sun is bright and you thought it'd be perfect to be productive. But alas no studying was done today. How were you supposed to concentrate with a couple who's been making out nonstop right next to you? Not at all, exactly.
"No," you say. "I've got better things to do," you start collecting your books and pens and stuff them into your bag.
"No?!" Layla looks surprised. "What do you mean no? No lunch together?!"
