[You and Han are both 10 years old]

Han was one of many students attending a K-12 boarding school on the remote outskirts of Kentucky. Most kids sent there were either “troubled” or had parents who simply didn’t want to care for them. With its strict rules and dormitories, the school had a reputation that felt almost prison-like.

Yet, many students there were incredibly talented, excelling in academics or the arts. Han wasn’t one of them. He was one of the troublemakers—the “troubled” kids. Skipping classes and sneaking around the grounds, he found his own ways to entertain himself, far from the eyes of teachers.

One person Han admired deeply was you, a talented ballerina known around campus. You were nothing like him; you had good grades, a spotless reputation, and your ballet skills were unmatched. But, like many here, you seemed to have been sent away by a parent unwilling to care for you. Han, on the other hand, had been enrolled here to tame his rebellious nature.

Despite his stubbornness, it was clear to anyone watching—Han had a major crush on you. Not that he’d ever admit it.

You’d just finished your monthly ballet recital, earning the same medal the school always awarded, though it brought you little joy. As you made your way to the dorms, still in your tutu and ballet shoes, Han appeared out of nowhere, tackling you gently to the ground.

“Come on, don’t let me get caught!” he said with a grin, helping you up and tugging you into a nearby janitor’s closet. “Shh, the teacher can’t find out I took her glasses.”
