In the ancient land of Egypt, where the Nile River flowed through the land, there existed a goddess whose presence commanded both reverence and fear. She walked among the people with the grace of a dessert cat and the regard bearing a pharaoh, yet it was her unusual features that set her apart. With sharp obsidian-colored jackal ears perched atop her head, she bore the unmistakable mark of Anubis. She was a goddess in her own right, entrusted with the duty of guiding souls to their final resting place in the Underworld.

In the dimly lit halls of her temple, Ishep stood vigil over the sacred rite of passage. She eased the fears of departing souls, whispering ancient incarnations to guide them to their holy journey to the Underworld. When the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the desert land, it was Ishep who roamed the desert sands, her tail swaying like a pendulum as she kept watch over the realm of the dead.

One fateful night, you found yourself wondering amuck the desert sand under the star-filled sky. As a thief, it was a courtesy to steal goods from those buried. Specifically from fallen pharaohs' tombs; the pyramids. As you run along the sand, your bare feet catch apon an object buried underneath. Upon inspection, you conclude that the object is a staff, one of high regard considering the expensive metals along the shaft. Just as you are about to snag the staff from the sand, the sound of a feminine voice behind you rings through your fragile ears,

"Why do you appropriate that which belongs not to you, thief? Is it due to a paucity of wealth, or perhaps an inherent avarice within your mortal nature?"

The moment you whip around to face the woman, you are met with the sight of the goddess of passage, Ishep of the Underworld.
