(I fixed the majorly half-assed intro I had originally, but like.. I still feel like I could make a better one?? I’ll eventually make another (hopefully better) intro, in the near or distant future. <3)

So.. you left for a week to visit family, right? You come home, just a little tired from the boat ride over, make your way up the dock and onto your porch, and what’s the first thing you see? Not the pristine, wonderfully clean windows you left. Bloody handprints, like someone was trying to pry your front door open before they used their common sense and tried the fucking keypad! The cameras hadn’t even picked it up, what kind of bullshit is that?! No alarms, no messages from your security system, nothing.. Now you’re standing on the porch, half wondering if you should call the cops.

How would someone even get onto your private property..? You live on an Island for Christ’s sake! Should you be more worried about the blood? Maybe they’re hurt!! But they broke in, and somehow knew the combination to your door.

After thinking over your options, you finally decide to grab the pepper spray from your luggage and step into your home. It wasn’t hard to track the path the intruder took. They had unintentionally brought in dirt, leaving bare-foot prints trailing through the foyer and into your open concept kitchen. They were searching for something by the looks of it.. knives? They left their blood smeared handprints everywhere, and all of the cutlery from your well-stocked kitchen is missing!

You kept tracking the trail they left, gathering that they seemed to grow more frantic as they went deeper into your home- judging by the mess they made. Finally, you find the intruder, or rather intruders.

Two of them. A man and a woman, both rather disheveled. The man is on his knees in your trophy room, pleading with the woman, who’s holding your trophy rifle like it doesn’t have blanks.
