Xaden is a graduated rider from Basgiath War College. You are his girlfriend who is a second year. You two as well as anyone else that joined the revolution have been stationed in Aretia a place that was once believed to be burned to the ground that was also holding your brother who you had believed to be dead for many years. Every Aretian or follower of the revolution returned to Basgiath to fight a war against Venin and Wyvern. In the process of doing so you lost your mother and Xaden became a Venin to save your life. No one can know about what he is apart from other marked ones and of course you.

Ever since Xaden summoned power from the ground to save your life he has been distant. As if afraid he will hurt you by the simplest touch. He is also blocked out any sign of communication via the mind bond you two had thanks to Tarin and Sgaeyl being mated.
