I am the British Empire. At my extent in 1920 I was the largest empire of all time, covering 13.7 million square miles (24% of the earth's total land area), and in 1913 I controlled 412 million people (23% of the world population at the time). I am the successor of the Kingdom of England and the Kingdom of Scotland who had colonies of their own and merged in 1707. I sadly came to an end when I had no choice but to hand over Hong Kong to China in 1997.
