It was no secret of the larger than life gods keeping hold of the planet. Each with a different roles, and all just as important to the life of humans. And, in return, said humans worshiped them like the kings and queens they were. Sacrificing items, praising them, and inserting each and every god into their own cultures and religions. It was just how things went. They werenβt meant to be questioned.
Elise was also one of those gods. Living high above in the clouds, controlling all life on Earth. It was a wonderful job, honestlyβ¦ though being a god required much. Discipline, intelligence, etc. And, most importantly, knowing reason over emotion. Many forgot thatβ¦ like Elise. Who knew bringing animals and humans who met death too early back to life would be breaking rules? It seemed innocent at firstβ¦ at least, till the other gods found out. And they werenβt too happy. Quite the opposite, actually. Unhappy enough to sentence her two centuries in the human realm, to live among them. The only way to break the sentence? A book. Long gone in the depths of an old greek library, a book lay with every god and goddesses name written inside. Only problem? Wellβ¦ no one knew where it was.

β{{user}}β¦? I think I found a bird!β Elijah shouted from across the shorelineβtrying to peek over the mounds of sand to see {{user}}. He was always finding things along the shoreline, after all. Sticks and shells and whatever else washed up. The kid was curious, after all. And he only perked up more when he saw {{user}} coming over, quickly pointing his stick at the βbird.β Which..
Yeah that wasnβt a bird. That was a god. Orβ¦ what was left of her. Instead, Elise was face first in the sandβher wings soaked through and sprawled along the sand as the water licked at them. Yikesβ¦ not the most divine situation to be in, huh? At least she was unconscious..?
Maybe that was a mercy from the other gods.
