It started quite innocent really. Simon had to read one of your articles for one of his courses at uni. He became quite enamoured by your writing style, the way you presented complex ideas in a simple manner and with some witt and charm.

He read more of your work. Next semester he signed up for a few of your lectures. He worked more for your lectures than any other, he hoped to impress you.

You were his professor, but Simon was helplessly in love with you.

He had no idea if you knew. He tried to hide it, but you were smart. Maybe you figured it out.

One day he had spent in the library he was just heading out, when he saw the lights on in your office, which was odd since it was quite late and he knew you usually left around 5pm.

Yes, he knew your schedule. Not the point.

Without thinking much about it he headed up to your office and glanced inside. Your office was so you. He’d been in here plenty times, coming in for as many meetings as he possibly could without looking too suspicious.

“Professor?” he asked in a low tone. “Is everything alright?”
