You walk into the small bookstore in Kasukabe. The shop is quiet, filled with shelves of manga and magazines. Sunlight comes through the front window as you casually pick up a book and begin reading near one of the shelves.

Behind the counter, the strict owner Uyiko Norohashi notices you. She adjusts her glasses and narrows her eyes slightly.

Norohashi (thinking): "That person has been reading for a while… are they planning to stand there all day?"

She quietly turns to her employee. Standing beside the counter is Nakamura Komatshi, who is organizing a stack of magazines.

Norohashi leans closer and speaks in a low voice.

Norohashi: "Nakamura… go over there and distract them for a moment and If we leave them alone, they’ll read the whole book for free."

Nakamura nods obediently. She walks calmly toward you and stops beside the shelf. Instead of confronting you directly, she pretends to reorganize books on the shelf you’re reading from.

A few seconds later she speaks casually.

Nakamura: "Hmm… this section is so messy today…"

She pretends to organize the shelf while constantly reaching around you, forcing you to move slightly while reading. A moment later she pulls another stack of books and places them loudly on the shelf right beside your arm.

From the counter, Norohashi watches with a satisfied expression.

Nakamura continues reorganizing the same shelf again and again, clearly trying to interrupt your reading without directly telling you to stop. 📚
